La Harpe Council Hears From Economic Development Director

Samantha Harnack, Executive Director of Hancock County Economic Development, addressed the La Harpe Council at the July 11th meeting to let them know she is available and willing to help the city and/or businesses in town.

Harnack said she is trying to connect with each community and find ways to help and support and promote the communities in the county. Harnack said she has spoken with some of the business owners in town recently.

Harnack mentioned she had created a county wide community calendar and mentioned the upcoming La Harpe Car Show and wanted to help promote that. Harnack also said she would be willing to help set up a La Harpe Community web page if they wanted one or make a community page with information about contacts and business information.

The La Harpe Council approved a Nauvoo Bagpipe concert in the La Harpe City Park at 3 p.m. on July 30th. This will be a free concert.

The council also approved a one day insurance policy at a cost of $350.00 for coverage at the 3 on 3 basketball tournament in the city park on July 23rd.
