Take “The Quill” Along

On Saturday, July 9th, the Maple City Antique Tractor Club ventured to Henderson County for a tractor ride.

Gathering at the Hugh and Sheila Forbes farm near Media they embarked at 9 o’clock to start their tour through Henderson and Warren Counties.

The first stop was at the Lee Amish Bakery, north of Sciota, where refreshments were enjoyed.

Venturing into McDonough County they traveled through the wind farm where they could observe, close up, the gigantic wind turbines generating electricity.

On to Blandinsville, where they had lunch at Tinks Cafe. There were 25 tractors and a gator in the procession and 30 people. Tinks were able to serve them with little trouble.

They then headed back to the starting point and had brownies and ice cream.

Completed the 60 mile crop scouting tour, running 12 miles per hour. After the million dollar rain that we had just received the corn and beans looked great.

When you go on a trip, take "The Quill" along, and have your picture taken with it, and send it to us. Let's see where all "The Quill" can travel.
