Fireworks Surprise Envelope

by Shirley Linder, Quill Editor

Hundreds of people from far and near enjoy the Raritan Firemen’s fourth of July fireworks and many show their appreciation in different ways.

Lee Moore, a Raritan fireman, found this to be true on July 4th.

Lee, who was headed to the Henderson County Historical Society BBQ meal at St. Pat’s Community Center north of Raritan, went to the garage for his truck.

Not having driven the truck for a day or so, you can imagine Lee's surprise when he opened the door to get into his truck, and found laying on the seat a sealed envelope marked “Fireworks”.

That surprise was nothing compared to when he opened the envelope. Inside was ten (10) $100 dollar bills.

Lee and the Raritan firemen are very appreciative of the giving person who sneaked into his garage, without Lee knowing, and left a most generous gift to help them continue with the 4th of July celebration of the nation's birthday and Independence Day.
