At the Village of Stronghurst board on February 7th, discussed playground equipment in the village park. Randy Jarvis, head of the park committee and Jeff Nichols, city employee had inspected the playground equipment and found one of the little kid’s slides was broken and the curly Q slide damaged.
Jarvis reported the curly Q slide had some sharp edges that children could get cut on and is not repairable. Trustees voted to remove these two slides and will look into replacements at a later date.

The meeting was called to order by Shane Reed, in absence of Mayor Brendan Schaley, by leading everyone in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Ronnie Gittings Water Superintendent reported that the village is to do a lead and copper pipe ruling survey on all customers in Stronghurst and make a map as to what materials are used. He is to inspect each and every basement and note the kind of piping used. He said he was pretty confident all the piping was good on the village side of things. Should galvanized pipes be found he is to encourage homeowners to replace them by a licensed plumber at their expense.
