STRONGHURST FALL FESTIVAL

Hello, it’s me again and you know what that means, Fall Festival is right around the corner! And I do mean right….around….the….corner!!! Wow summer has all but flown by, it seems school just let out and now back to school shopping is in full force and the children are heading back to the classroom.

Some say they are ready and some say no way!!! I am hoping everyone has had an enjoyable summer and is ready for some cooler, sweater weather!

Only about 4 weeks left before we will usher in exactly that. The Stronghurst Booster Club will be hosting our Fall Festival on Saturday September 17 from 9am to 3pm in our village park.

Vendors will be set up in the park at 9am, Norm will begin driving his tractor and pulling excited children in the barrel train rides at 10am. The booster club will again be sell those that may not be able to attend the festival we will be doing a pre order as we did last year. Stay tuned to our Face Book page for more details or contact a booster club member. We will also hconcessions in the shelter house. For your entertainment we are excited to welcome back The Blue Room Band who will play from 10am to 2pm. They definitely know how to keep things lively. Weather permitting the Doc Pogue Spray Park will come on around noon.

This day will be plumb full of fun things to do. The Lions Club will be serving a biscuit n gravybreakfast starting at 7am in the American Legion Building. This I believe will be a free will donationand it is delicious, you won’t go away hungry.

Looking for a bargain, city wide yard sales will also be held on Saturday and some will start on Friday. Maps can be picked up at West Central FS and Fishers Grocery Store. Downtown Broadway Street will also be the site of our annual car show and an antique tractor display.

I have it on good authority that Bryan will be cooking ribs at Fishers as well as other sandwiches.

Bygones and Buds will have delectable goodies and drinks, The Feedlot and Rivals will also be serving delicious food and cool beverages.

Lest I forget you can always grab a slice of pizza at West Central FS. To round out your fun filled day you can head on out to the Henderson County Fairgrounds and spend the evening at the Havoc.

So you see it’s going to be a busy day, make sure to grab your sunglasses, wear comfy shoes and head on to Stronghurst where you will find pumpkins, mums and friends oh my!

If you have any questions about being a vendor, the car show or antique tractor display please contact a Stronghurst Booster Club member. Follow us on Face Book for updates. Hope to see you there!!
