Tri-County Cattlemen To Host Beef Industry Tour August 20

The Tri-County Cattlemen are hosting a Beef Industry Tour on August 20, 2022. This event is for any one interested in the beef industry to learn from other cattle producer’s about management of cattle, pasture, and sale of product. This is an educational event, an opportunity to network and engage, and a social event at the conclusion of the event. This event will feature tours of Grateful Graze and Staker Acres, a ribeye dinner, and entertainment by Mad Hoss Jackson. The public is welcome to attend all or part of this Beef promotion event. Tickets and sponsorships are available for purchase online at tricountycattlemen.com.

The tour portion of the event will begin with charter buses leaving the Warren County Fairgrounds (Roseville, IL) at 12:30 PM. The first stop of the tour will be at Grateful Graze in Cambridge, IL. Monte and Robyn Bottins operate a 150 head rotational grazing operation that boasts soil health practices, cutting edge grazing technology such as fenceless cattle tags, and providing 100% homegrown beef to the surrounding area. The second stop of the tour at Staker Acres in Aledo, IL will feature a combination grazing/confinement system. Steve Staker embarked on constructing a Britespan Hoop Barn and manure storage in 2020. This tour stop is an opportunity to learn about NRCS financial aid opportunities, permitting in Illinois, and things to consider in the construction process.

The tour charter buses will return to the fairgrounds at 5:30 for a social hour and dinner at 6:30. Dinner will include a ribeye dinner with an update from the Illinois Beef Association and honoring recognition of the Tri County 2022 Scholarship recipients. Post dinner entertainment by Mad Hoss Jackson will begin at 8.

The Tri-County Cattlemen is an affiliate of the Illinois Beef Association. The organization’s mission is to promote the beef industry while also supporting high school in Warren, Henderson, and McDonough counties who are pursuing a career in agriculture.
