The Hancock-Henderson Quill, Inc.
Travelers Diner opened up in La Harpe on Wednesday, April 13th at 10:30 a.m. and has been very busy it's first week, according to patrons who have been there and posts on Travelers Diner's Facebook.
Owner Mika Ajrulai is very happy which you can definitely can tell by his excitement in his voice and appreciation to his customers.
He put on his Facebook, "We offer you lunch and dinner all day. Come and visit us if you can please. We try the best to make the people happy with good food, friendly atmosphere, and good service....just please be patient. God bless everyone! God bless the USA!"
You have to work hard to run a restaurant, Mika said. Sometimes you hire people and they may not understand. They want to get paid but they don't want to work!
Mika is enjoying all the support he is getting from the community. In just his first week he has had many specials and appreciates the staff helping him at his new business.
He writes, keep your church bulletin. It is valuable. If you bring it into his restaurant on Sunday, Mika will donate 10% of the cost of your meal back to the church!"
Mika's customers seem very happy to and he is opening up with very good prices for today's rising cost of food and labor.
He is open Monday through Friday 10:30 am until 8:30 pm.; and on Saturday 8 a.m. to 8:30 pm and on Sunday 8 a.m. to 4:00 pm.
He has many specials each day such as on Easter offering roast pork, turkey, baked ham and pineapple and Fried Chicken, sweet potatoes and mashed potatoes, dressing, corn, salad bar only $11.99! Mika is still working on improvements, like accepting credit cards, getting ice cream, extending hours as staff allows. People are leaving with a smile saying, we'll be back!
