Zach Simpson took The Quill Along to the Consolidated Naval Store where one of the many murals are painted in Lake Placid, Florida. He is standing at the far end of a mural depicting the harvest of pine resin for gum turpentine.
Zach, a musican who has played for various events and businesses around the county including the Old Tyme Show and Stronghurst Fall Festival, has lived for some time in Kirkwood working with his brother who owns Midwest Tree Service. Zach says he is now a proud citizen of Stronghurst!
