Stronghurst Fall Fest –... fun, laughter and good times

By: Shelly Gittings, Fall Festival Chair

Wow! What a wonderful day we had for the 2021 Stronghurst Fall Festival!

The park was filled with people shopping or just looking for that special something.

Vendors reported they all had a good day and enjoyed spending it in our beautiful park.

Children formed long lines waiting for their turn in the bounce houses provided by Fields of Fun, to get their faces painted by volunteer cheerleaders and to have Norm pull them up and down the block in his barrel train rides.

Many children young and maybe not so young cooled off in the Doc Pogue Spray Park after lunch. As the temperature climbed into the 80s I'm sure it was a good way to cool off!

We were all kept very well entertained by Zach Simpson's band "Stone Soup."

Many mums went to new homes for beautiful fall decorating as well as pumpkins, wreaths and other fall decorations.

I did notice one happy customer who found some wonderful Christmas decorations, she was definitely getting an early start to the Christmas season.

Downtown boasted the annual car show as well as an antique tractor display.

The People's Choice Award for Antique Tractors was won by Hugh Forbes 1970 Farmall 1456. Congratulations Hugh!

The Stronghurst Booster Club who sponsors this event, truly appreciates everyone who pitched in one way or another to help make this special day a success.

The Stronghurst Village employees had the park looking so beautiful (Ronnie Gittings, Jeff Nichols and Matt Hicks).

The 2022 Fall Festival has been set for September 17, so mark your calendars now and we hope to see you next year!
