By: Shirley Linder, Quill Editor

The Village of Stronghurst Trustees wrapped up their monthly business in a half an hour on Tuesday, September 7th.

Mayor Brendan Schaley opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance.

Ronnie Gittings reported they had all the supplies needed for Laverdiere to begin work on the water line on North Street. Residents had been notified of street closings and parking for a couple of days.

He also reported that the village has been tested for lead in the water and there was none found.

The police report for August included: 53 hours worked; 296 miles on squad car; 5 service calls; and 34 business checks.

It was noted there is still some destruction going on at the village park.

The board voted to replace the sidewalk in front of "The Quill" building. They will make it narrower and bring in black dirt for between the sidewalk and curb. It will be like the one on the west side of the Bank of Stronghurst.

Dates for activities was announced as: Fall Festival-September 18th; City wide garage sales-September 17th and 18th; and Fall clean up-October 1.

The board also approved last month's minutes and the paying of the bills for the month.
