Dear Illini West Family:
At a special meeting on Monday, August 30th, the Illini West Board of Education approved an updated Return to School Plan that requires the indoor use of face coverings by students, staff, and visitors who are age 2 and older and able to medically tolerate a face covering, regardless of vaccination status. The plan includes a requirement that all school personnel must have, at a minimum, the first dose of a two-dose COVID-19 vaccine series or a single-dose COVID-19 vaccine on or before September 5th, and be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 within 30 days following administration of their first dose in a two-dose vaccination series. Any school personnel who have not established that they are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 must be tested for COVID-19 weekly, at a minimum. School personnel means all administrators, teachers, coaches, support staff, and volunteers, including contractors of the district.
