Stronghurst Boosters Discuss Christmas Open House Plans
November 8th Meeting
The Stronghurst Booster Club had several things to discuss at their regular November 8th meeting.
After approval of the October Minutes and the Treasurer's report where a few more bills were paid from the Fall Fest account it was annouced that a total profit from Fall Festival was $2703.47 and the total profit from the Car Show was $1040.92.
The Village approved $500 donation for the Christmas Open House and bills needing paid to proceed with planning the Open House were all approved via email this past month.
Under "Old Business" the following took place:
- Spray Park: The spray park has been winterized and there should be a bill for that coming in mail soon.
- Stronghurst Christmas Open House: Friday Nov 19th, 5-7 p.m.:
- The Planning Committee will meet at the Senior Center to work on fluffing wreaths, checking lights, and decorating for Christmas on Thursday, November 12th, at 10 a.m. The Legion and Peg Moore's building adjacent to H&H Feed will also need to be decorated. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be in the Moore Building. Jade and Christine volunteered to decorate Santa's Building.
- Greenery: Jim Blender can get fresh garland by Thursday this week in 75 ft lengths at $1 per foot and 7 strands are needed this year totaling $525. Christine made a motion to pay Jerry Spiker to hang greenery and lights around poles, Jade 2nd and all approved. Jim will talk with Jerry. Jim also has greenery for all the pots downtown.
- Santa's raffle: after visiting Santa children will get a raffle ticket to fill out to enter a drawing for one of 4 gifts. Gifts will be in the $25-30 range.
- 50/50 drawing: Jim has tickets, if you would like to sell some contact him. The drawing for the 50/50 and Santa's gifts will be at 7 p.m. downtown Stronghurst.
- Parade: Friday, December 3rd, 2021, 5:30 p.m. Hollie is working on details with the village and will have more info to come.
New Business:
The nominating committee was chosen to choose new officers for 2022. Committee will consist of Jade Parker, Sara Lefler, Rachael Gipe, and/or Amanda Jack. The committee will bring nominations to the next meeting.
Fall Festival 2022 is set for: Saturday, September 17th, 2022.
The next meeting is Monday, December 13th at 4:30 p.m. at the Stronghurst American Legion.
