Deb's Cut and Style is owned by Debra Anderson of Stronghurst. She opened her salon on April 11th, 1988 when she was 19 and fresh out of beauty school.

After a brief job in Burlington, IA, Deb's dad encouraged her to open her own salon. This was very scary but she is so glad that she did it!

Debra is married to Paul Anderson, who is employed as the service manager at Martin Tractor (John Deere), in Monmouth.

They have two children Tyler and Shaylene. Tyler currently lives at home and works at Nutrien Ag (Biggsville). Shaylene (Biggsville) is attending cosmetology school in Macomb at Design Innovations. She works part time at Rivals On Main (Stronghurst).

Deb's Cut and Style offers hair services for men, women, and children. They carry Matrix, Kenra, and Big Sexy hair products.

Their most popular services are haircuts and hair color. Most of their clients prefer the styling products in the Kenra line and Matrix hair care products.

Currently, Debra has one other employee, Kayla Spiker, who rents a chair from her. Kayla lives in Oquawka with her husband, Jim Spiker. They have two children, Gannon (5) and Gavin (2).

Deb's Cut and Style is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to after the last appointment and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Appointments are preferred but not always necessary.

Shaylene will be finishing cosmetology school sometime in April and plans to rent a chair from her mother at the salon. They will soon have three stylists!
