RYAN JOHNSON
Ryan Johnson and his wife Ashley live in La Harpe. Ryan was born and raised on a farm Southwest of Disco in Durham Township.
He has five children--Emily (20), Molly (18), Matthew (18), Lucas (16), and Ryley (12).
His parents are Roger and Mary Ann Johnson from rural La Harpe. He has two siblings--Tim Johnson of rural Fountain Green, and Christy Pilger of West Burlington, IA.
Ryan's grandparents, Gene and Betty Johnson owned and operated a farm for many years in rural La Harpe, and Ryan's other grandparents, Nip and Marge Patch, lived in Blandinsville and La Harpe most of their lives.
Ryan graduated from La Harpe High School in 1994 and later obtained a Bachelors in Christian Ministry degree from Lincoln Christian University.
In high school, Ryan was active in the FFA, played football for the La Harpe Eagles and the Northwestern/La Harpe Thunder. Ryan also played basketball for the Eagles, and was a member of band, chorus, and swing choir.
Ryan is the Agency Manager for COUNTRY Financial. Ryan was an agent in both McDonough and Hancock County for 20 years prior to accepting the Agency Manager position in early 2021. As part of the Midwestern IL Agency, Ryan manages six counties (Adams, Brown, Hancock, McDonough, Schuyler, and Scott). Ryan says, " While I enjoy my new role in leadership, I do miss my client interaction in La Harpe".
Ryan is a member of the La Harpe Christian Church family, and also serves the La Harpe Community School District #347 as a member and President. "One of my greatest passions in life has been serving the needs of survivors of natural disasters, through a ministry that I co-founded called ONE FAMILY ONE PURPOSE". Ryan serves as the Executive Director of the organization, and has been honored to be a part of God's work over the years.
Ashley and Ryan love to travel, and COUNTRY Financial has given them many opportunities to do so. Ryan says, "Our favorite travel experience was extending a company trip to London, and visiting my great uncle Dorn Johnson's burial site in Normandy, France. We also enjoy taking our kids to domestic getaways like Disney World and Destin Florida".
Ryan and his family's future plans include an upcoming trip to Disney in July, and spousal getaway to Miami in August. "While it's always nice to get a getaway, it's even nicer to have a town like La Harpe to come home to."
