Meet your neighbor Laura Jones.
Laura was born in Macomb and raised in La Harpe where she resides today.
Laura graduated from La Harpe High School and Southeastern Community College.
She is the daughter of the late Larry Gittings and Leta Shumaker. Larry was a retired Ironworker and Leta is retired from the Hancock County Journal Pilot after 36 years.
Laura is married to Steve Jones who operates his own handyman business.
She has two sons. Colby is a hunting guide and works for an electrician and is currently living in Harrison, Tennessee. Chase is a farm assistant and lives in La Harpe.
She has one brother, Randy, and three nieces who also all currently live in La Harpe.
Laura is employed at La Harpe School where she has been the district bookkeeper for the past 10 years.
She also spent 10 years at First State Bank and 10 years at FS. Laura enjoys spending time with her grandpups, Moki and Sadie.
She gets lots of girl time with her three nieces, Destiny, Avery, and Taylor. She also enjoys spending time with her stepkids and grandchildren. She says there is nothing like baby snuggles after a long crazy day!
After a year of staying close to home, Laura is looking forward to family bonding get-a-ways, dining out, and cook outs.
Laura enjoys her small town living and is blessed to have most of her family so close.
