MORGAN McCollum

Meet your neighbor Morgan McCollum. Morgan was born in Shawnee Mission, Kansas to Mike and Michele (Baxter) McCollum who grew up in the area and graduated HS in Henderson County. She has one older brother, Michael (Smithshire), and two older sisters - Megan (Chicago) and Mallory (Mililani, HI). She also has a newborn daughter, Londyn Anne Story McCollum, born in December 2020.

Morgan graduated from West Central High School (Biggsville) in 2008, then attended SIUE (Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville) and UAB (University of Alabama Birmingham) for undergraduate studies.

She currently lives in rural Media, and just began a new job working at The Henderson County Quill in advertising and reporting.

Morgan's hobbies include four-wheeling, swimming, fishing, hiking, biking, walking her dog Riley, and shooting with her dad and brother. Recently, however, she has been savoring every moment with her newborn daughter in the NICU until she is able to bring her home.

"Footprints in the Sand," by Author Unknown is the most inspiring and influential quote in my life. Her favorite part is the line that states "it was then that I carried you", she says as it reminds her that she is never alone.
