Four Illini West Illinois State Scholars Named

The Illinois Student Assistance Commission has announced the Illinois State Scholars for this year. The State Scholar program recognizes Illinois high school students for outstanding academic achievement. Illini West High School is pleased to announce that four current seniors from the graduating class of 2022 have been selected. They are:

Jacob Carpenter-Son of Wesley and Kelly Carpenter Plans to attend the University of Iowa to pursue a degree in Medical Sciences

Marie Desotel-Daughter of Tyler and Alison Desotel Plans to attend college to pursue a degree in Nursing

Cole Kirkham-Son of Clint Kirkham and Shannon Short

Plans to attend college and is undecided on his major

Aneisha Norman-Daughter of John and Kristen NormanPlans to attend Southeastern Community College to pursue a degree in Respiratory Therapy

In order to be selected an Illinois State Scholar; seniors must have taken the SAT examination between September 1 and June 30 of their junior year.

Selection is based upon their SAT test score and class rank at the end of the junior year. Students ranking in the top ten percent of the state's high school seniors are designated Illinois State Scholars.

A Certificate of Achievement will be presented to honor their accomplishment at the Illini West High School Honors Night on May 4, 2022. Illinois State Scholars for 2022-23
