STRONGHURST FALL FESTIVAL Is Right Around The Corner

-by Shelly Gittings, Special for The Quill

Hello all, it seems August has all but slipped away from us. School is back in session, football season is here and I see a few leaves falling every day. Soon we will be celebrating Thanksgiving and then Christmas will be right around the corner…………but whoa let us slowww down and welcome in Fal first.

Saturday September 18 the Stronghurst Booster Club will host the 2021 Stronghurst Fall Festival from 9AM till 3PM. At this time there are more than forty vendors registered that will be set up throughout the park to show off their wares!

Live music will entertain you from 10AM till 2PM. The Boosters will have concessions available in the shelter house.

Inflatables will be set up from 10AM till 2PM as well as Norm's barrel train rides to entertain the younger crowd!

Weather permitting the Doc Pogue Spray Park will also be open.

What says Fall most of all? Mums I say……the Boosters will again have Mums for sale. Currently we are taking pre orders. They may be ordered online from the Stronghurst Booster Club Facebook page and some area businesses. Pre sales will end on Sunday September 12 and mums can be picked up the day of the festival at the park. There will also be mums available to be purchased on the day of the festival.

To start your morning you can stop in the Stronghurst American Legion where the Stronghurst Lions will be serving biscuits and gravy then off you go to find some bargains at the city wide yard sales.

Lining Broadway Street will be a car show and an antique tractor display. To end the day you can drive on out to the Henderson County Fairgrounds and watch the Havoc! Whew….. that is a lot to see and do!

We hope everyone can find something fun to do on Saturday September 18 here in our great town of Stronghurst!
