Lonnie and Brenda Brent of northern Henderson County have a favorite fishing spot in northern Minnesota where they landed these beauties, both are Northern Pike. Brenda's weighed in at 12 lbs, and Lonnie's weighed in at 22 lbs. Both will give them plenty to eat and bragging rights.
Where is their favorite fishing spot? It is on Lake Kabetogama at their very own Kab Outdoors & Driftwood Lodge, owned by the Brent family.
Not to worry, you can go there too. It's the Brent's favorite business and although it is obvious they put a lot of work and money into their resort, it is truely a lot of fun for their family and friends as well as for you and for me and your friends.

Enjoy the peaceful setting of Driftwood Lodge Resort on Lake Kabetogama. Cabins are completely furnished so you'll have all the conveniences of home. Each cabin also has a deck facing the lake with deck chairs and a charcoal grill. A boat slip comes with each cabin, two slips for the larger cabins, in a protected harbor. The harbor is handicap accessible and they offer full dock service - bait, gas, ice, firewood - and their dock guys will even fillet your fish.

GUIDED BEAR HUNTS
If you're looking to have a successful bear hunt, they have been helping hunters get the opportunity to target black bear for over a decade. They offer guided bear hunts the first two weeks of September. Hunts include a cabin on Lake Kabetogama, baiting, ground blind/tree stand, recovery, field care, quartering, and freezer storage. They even will assist you with bear applications (it's a draw system), bait for you, and take you to your hunt site each day. They bait deep, so it's best if you can bring a four-wheeler or UTV. Part of the adventure is the trail ride through the deep woods of Northern Minnesota to get to your bait site each day! With multiple bears on most every site, we promise you'll have an opportunity to see bear. Bow and gun hunters are welcome. Fish in the morning and hunt in the afternoon.
On Lake Kabetogama, you can rent one of their fully rigged boats, if you don't have your own boat.
Their rental boat fleet is updated each year and the boats are always rigged and ready for fishing Kabetogama. All of our deep-V bottom boats are equipped with a GPS and iPilot to help you navigate the lake and control your boat in the spots you want to fish.
If you've never used an iPilot, you'll love the features it has. The boats also have a 24 volt trolling motor, electronics, pedestal seats, live wells, landing net, bait bucket, measuring trough and life vests. Almost all have full windshields (great for ladies, kids, and "seasoned" fishermen).

At Kab Outdoors, there is everything from fresh ground coffee each morning to get you started to Shorelunch for the fish fry, and everything in between. BAIT & TACKLE
They have bait suited for the area lakes and the time of year you're fishing on them. From shiners, and fatheads to sucker minnows. They'll even throw in some oxygen to keep the little swimmers alive for you. They have everything you need to fish and be out in the elements!
They offer a wide range of tackle and quality fishing equipment, including top of the line rods and reels, augers, summer and winter bibs/jackets, tackle boxes, bait containers.
They also carry campfire wood, propane, and fish/hunting licenses. They have staff on hand who fish, hunt and love the outdoors, so we can help you have the best experience at Kabetogama as possible.
GUIDED TRIPS
Their fishing guides have years of experience on Kabetogama and will take you to where the fish are. Bring your GPS and mark spots during the trip if you wish. Their goal is to make sure you can go back and catch fish the rest of the time your'e on Kabetogama. The Brents at Driftwods offer summer and winter guided trips. Experience Kab on ice and go for a guided SnoBear fishing expedition! We also offer fall bear hunts.
Their guides are U.S. Coast Guard licensed, fully insured and have CPR and First-Aid training.
In the summer of 2021 the Brents added weekly live entertainment, a pool overlooking the lake, and a tiki bar.
