The opening ceremonies at the 22nd Annual La Harpe Classic Car Show Reunion on August 7th featured many veterans carrying out the huge American flag to be raised. The patriots were led by one of the oldest veterans shown at right, Mr.Glen Boyd, age 98 of La Harpe.
Glen was born August 10, 1923, and he served as first crew in the United States Navy during WWII. Glen is pictured with his wife who is seated in the golf cart, along with two other fellow veterans who served America. Dan Gillett, far left, Vice President of the SE Iowa Civil War Roundtable, and a reenactor, is dressed as a Major in the Civil War.
