The Hancock-Henderson Quill, Inc.
Mark Bell and his finacee' Amanda Jadin of Burlington, IA took "The Quill" along to the iconic FIELD OF DREAMS baseball game outside Dyersville––the first ever major league baseball game in Iowa, and the most watched regular season MLB game in 16 years with 5,903,000 viewers tuning into FOX-TV. The 6 p.m. game on Thursday, August 12, 2021, featured the first place Chicago White Soxs against record-holding world series champions the New York Yankees who have won the world series 27 times. Mark, who lived in New York for 12 years growing up said his team ended up losing in the bottom of the 9th when fame White Sox batter Tim Anderson powered out a walk-off home run double into the corn field, to give the White Sox a 9-8 win. If you are going to lose, Mark said it was the best way to lose. It was a very exciting experience and very mystical to walk through the cornfield onto the field of dreams ballfield that was in the movie and to see Kevin Costner.
Next year, the Chicago Cubs will play the other infamous team from the 1919 World Series, the Cincinnati Reds on Thursday, August 11th.
