Tuesday evening, a large crowd filled a hot gymnasium to show support for a continued mask optional plan for West Central District 235.
Eleven people addressed the board in support of the continued plan, including Illinois State Senator Neil Anderson.
Board Member Dillan Vancil then made a motion to keep the current mask optional plan in place. The motion was seconded by Sarah Bigger.
There was a lengthy discussion among board members both for and against keeping the plan along with many questions for their attorney. School Board President Brendan Schaley then called for a roll call vote.

West Central District 235 will continue its mask optional plan already in place.
