ASSOCIATION HISTORY

The Henderson County Olde Tymers started in 1992 with the intention of promoting, attracting, protecting, preserving and exhibiting the heritage and history of American Agriculture and related paraphernalia.

The Olde Tymers aim to provide the general public with an educational look at the history of the many technologies rural Americans utilized and to preserve these various items and crafts to the best of their ability.

The Olde Tymers held regular farm shows at the Henderson County Fair Grounds in Stronghurst, IL from 1992-2008.

During these shows there were live demonstrations of old farm equipment including a thrashing machine, a saw mill, a black smith, several tractors and a ham and bean supper cooked in large kettles over an open fire.

After a 10 year break, the members decided it was time to bring back the annual show! The Olde Tymers hosted very successful shows in both 2018 and 2019.
