Raritan State Bankcorp Holds Annual Meeting

Raritan State Bancorp held its annual stockholders meeting on Saturday, March 13, 2021, at the main bank location in Raritan, IL.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions and for the health and safety of all, the meeting was held with a representation by proxy to meet quorum requirements and a recording was made accessible to all stockholders wishing to view the proceedings.

The annual meeting began after lunch with a brief welcome from IT Coordinator, Samantha Kreps.

CFO/Cashier, Angela Pollock, reported the roll call of the stockholders with 1,145 shares of stock represented in person and 13,363 shares represented by proxy with a total 14,508 shares present. Angela declared a quorum was present and then read the minutes of the 2020 annual stockholders meeting which was the last meeting held to date.

100 Years Of Service

Angela commented on the bank's intention to celebrate 100 years of service in 2021 due to the limitations of 2020, and presented the recognition awards the bank received from Illinois Bankers Association and Community Banking Association of Illinois for 100 years of banking.

CEO, Robert Schleich welcomed all in attendance to the 101st annual stockholders meeting and reflected on the uncertainty of 2020 and the need of the bank to find new platforms to address stockholders. Robert then gave the bank's report of financial condition, stating that the bank ended the 2020 year with earnings of $1,575,385. Robert reflected on the bank's financial performance last year which was better than expected and the bank anticipates meeting their budget goals for 2021.

Chairman of the Board, Jan VanArsdale, gave his comments on the Holding Company. He thanked the stockholders for attending and recognized the use of technology in conducting bank business over the last year. "The bank is still planning a large 100th year celebration at each location," he said, "so stay tuned for further information."

Jan said, "He hopes to be able to meet in person for the next stockholders meeting in 2022.

Attorney, Jim Skinner, then ran the business meeting. Joe Krupps and Monica Torrance were both up for reelection in which the motion carried for their reelections.

To conclude the 2020 Annual Meeting, CEO Robert Schleich thanked the owners of the bank for sending their proxy which allowed the meeting to be conducted virtually. He expressed hope that next year's meeting will be in person with a good meal and fellowship for all to enjoy.
