Kitana Michael Morgan
Meet your neighbor Kitana Michael Morgan.
Kitana was born in Galesburg, raised in the outskirts of Oquawka and currently lives in town.
She has an aunt, Pammi Norman, that she is pretty close to. Her grandparents are the late Patricia and James Norman who basically raised Kitana, and she says they were amazing people.
Kitana's family consists of her son, Braxton Morgan (Oquawka). His middle name is James after her grandpa Norman.
She attended West Central High School and then achieved her GED and has certifications in medical terminology and BLS/CPR, currently taking classes to become a medical coder.
She and Braxton are also trying to learn Spanish.
She has worked at Walmart, an oil factory, photography and photo editing when she lived in Oregon, and then worked in the ER of a hospital for most of the pandemic.
Her interests are video games, movies/shows, true crime, crafts, and music.
She enjoys being with her friends and their kids.
Kitana said COVID has ruined traveling and normal traditions. She and Braxton traveled, for at least one of their birthdays each year, to somewhere they had never been before. They love traveling to the West Coast and Chicago.
Her favorite quote is "Happiness is not something ready- made. It comes from your own actions".
