Janice Peterson
Janice (Ball) Peterson was born on July 20 in Fairfield, IA, the third child of Harlan and Ethel (Haifley) Ball.
Janice was raised in Burlington, IA and now resides outside of Stronghurst.
Janice married Jim Peterson on December 28, 1968 at the Bethel Lutheran Church in Stronghurst. From the union came 2 children.
James Allan Peterson of RR, Bloomfield, IA who has been at Walmart Distribution in Mount Pleasant, IA for 25 years as a manager and Jennifer Lynn Bonar of RR, Gladstone who has been at Hope Haven in Burlington, IA for 14 years as an account specialist.
Janice and Jim have an ornery son-in-law Chris Bonar who has been at Bickles in West Burlington, IA for 30 years.
Janice and Jim have 4 grand boys: twins-Austin and Ethan VanScoy of RR, Gladstone who are seniors at West Central; Andrew Peterson of RR Bloomfield, IA who is a freshman at Bloomfield High; Quentin Bonar of RR, Gladstone who is a Sophomore at West Burlington High.
Janice worked for J.C.Penney in West Burlington, IA for 35 years, before they closed there doors on April 1, 2015. Her duties over the years included Human Resource Supervisor, Cashroom Supervisor, Jewelry Manager and Shoe Manager.
Janice likes to read Jeanette Oke and Chicken Soup Books, cross-stitch, craft and visit craft fairs. She also enjoys working with her flowers and feeding the birds and squirrels!
Janice is the secretary of the Luther Anns and treasurer of the B.L.C.W. women's group at the Bethel Lutheran Church here in Stronghurst.
Janice's husband, Jim, is supposed to be retired. He has been retired from the I.A.A.P. in Middletown, IA for 27 years, U.S. Army for 27 years and Greenbelt Transportation for 12 years. He still helps Mark, Miles and Mitch Lefler with their hauling needs.
Janice said, "I just can't keep him out of those 18 wheelers!!!"
