Christa Todd Jack

Christa was born in Macomb to Ralph and Beth Todd of Terre Haute. Her grandparents were LaVerne and Mary Burr of Disco and Floyd and Hilda Todd of Disco. Christa was raised in Terre Haute and now lives in Terre Haute.

Christa is married to Daniel Jack of La Harpe. He is the son of Jerry and Barb Jack of La Harpe. Dan and Christa will celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary next May.

The Jacks have three beautiful daughters: Amanda Hash, married to George with whom she has two adorable girls, Isabelle and Olivia and lives in Stronghurst; Emma Shaw, married to Jacob with a beautiful daughter Alora and another boy or girl on the way who lives in Macomb; their youngest daughter, Jessica Jack, still single and needs a good, honest man! Jessie lives in La Harpe.

Christa graduated from La Harpe High School. She attended Culver-Stockton College and graduated from Midstate College with a diploma in Medical Assistant courses.

Christa worked as a medical assistant for 7 years assisting Mary Jo Ray, CPNP, Dr. Robert Pogue, and Dr. Dennis Conventon. Then she worked as a paraprofessional with La Harpe Schools for 15 years.

Christa now works with the elderly--worked at Grand Prairie in Macomb as a CNA and now works at Oak Wood Estates Assisted Living in Stronghurst as Activity Assistant/CNA. Christa loves to work with the elderly and tries to be a "bright spot" in their lives, especially during these current times.

Christa loves spending time with her family, especially now with her grandchildren. She loves to do arts and crafts and has even started to do a few with her granddaughters. She is sure that her granddaughters will be doing many more in the future as they get older.

Christa also loves to bake, making many birthday cakes, cakes and desserts for celebrations over the years, including her daughters' wedding cakes.

Christa also loves to sing and has a beautiful voice. She has sung many church specials and at many events (weddings, funerals, celebrations, etc.) over the years, including her own wedding and her Grandma Burr's funeral.

Christa sings with the residents of Oak Wood Estates, singing old hymns and old classic country. Her daughters have sung with her over the years, and she can't wait till her granddaughters are old enough to sing with her!

For the past several years, Dan and Christa have loved to go somewhere warm during the long winter months, usually Texas or Florida. They only get to go for a week and it is always hard to come back to the cold!

A recent favorite quote, "If it's big enough to worry about, it's big enough to pray about!" Christa's learned outlook on life is to try and live in the moment and never take anything for granted. "Live for today, because tomorrow is never promised!"
