Hello folks,
Flo called me last night to see if I was going to vote in the presidential election and if I needed her and Clarence to drive me to the polls.
She was all worked up worrying what would happen if President Trump didn't get re-elected.
I said, "It will be what it will be, Flo, and the good Lord will see us through like he always has." Flo said her neighbors got in a fight over it, and I guess they had to call the police. They put the wife in jail for throwing a hot iron at her husband that sent him to the E.R.!
If people would just go to church, read the good book, and turn it over to the Lord, they wouldn't be in half the trouble, I told Flo. Instead, they're getting themselves in all kinds of trouble, like stealing and burning political signs. "There's not much we can do," I told Flo, "but get on with making the best of each day and see what we can do to love our neighbors. If we each did that, think what a better world it would be."
Flo's neighbors collect junk in their yard and it was driving Clarence nuts. "If people would take care of their places it would be easier and teach their kids respect for others and manners!"
I said, "Flo, I've voted, you and Clarence could pick me up and come to church Sunday! She was quiet for a minute, then she agreed! God loves a peacemaker. Talk later. -Love, Aunt Polly
