Illini West High School will pay $100,000 toward the cost of the heating and air-conditioning improvements to the building that houses their students.
The board voted on May 20 to pay $50,000 from their health and life safety fund, and pass through a $50,000 state building grant to Carthage Elementary School District to help pay for the project.
The improvements had been discussed at the April meeting of the Illini West High School board, but no action was taken. Since that time, the Carthage Elementary District voted to go ahead with the project on their building, that Illini West uses.
"You had previously agreed to this amount so that is what I would recommend," Illini West Superintendent Kim Schilson told the board
