Mary Ann Stimpson

Mary Ann was born in Burlington, IA to Betty and Earl Harper who are both deceased. Her grandparents were the late Dewey and Ann Darnold.

She attended Burlington, IA schools.

Mary Ann married Tom Stimpson on May 3, 1980 and they reside in Stronghurst.

The couple have two children, Jennifer (Eric) Price and Clinton (Crystal) Stimpson. They also have seven grandchildren, MaryKay, Daniel, Bella, Davion, Nevaeh, Gage and Miley and four great grandchildren, Jade, Kyrin, Scarlett and Rosealie. Mary Ann and Tom are very proud of all of their family.

Mary Ann provided day care for 22 years. She said, "It was a joy to do." She then joined the staff at Oak Lane and then transferred to Oak Wood when they opened. She worked as a kitchen manager which she loved. Unfortunately, her knees bother her so she isn't able to do that job anymore.

Mary Ann holds a Craft Fun Day Class once a month for anyone interested in attending. They just need to contact her. The class is held at the American Legion Hall in Stronghurst and Mary Ann provides the materials and instruction for a fee to the class. The class participants make many wood signs and other crafts. She posts pictures of finished products on her facebook page under Mary Ann Stimpson. She has made her hobby of crafting into a fun adventure for others. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, she stopped her classes, but has started back up as of this month.

Mary Ann enjoys spending time with her grandchildren and watching them participate in sports.

Mary Ann says, " We all need to try and be kind." This is her outlook on life.

Mary Ann and Tom love living in Stronghurst. The town is nice with friendly people.
