CHANDRA WOODBURY

Chandra Rae (Vancil) Woodbury was born in Monmouth. Her parents are Jeffrey Vancil of Stronghurst and Rhonda (Bradley) Flatt of Media.

She was raised in Stronghurst and now lives in rural Stronghurst.

Chandra married Todd Woodbury from Wayland, MO on May 24, 2003 and they have two children, Connor 16 and Peyton 13 along with 3 bonus children Todd brought into the marriage Toby Woodbury of Kansas City, MO, Dwight Woodbury of Wayland, MO and Hannah Woodbury of Keokuk, IA. Chandra and Todd also have 4 grandchildren Landon Young, Aidan Woodbury, Athena Woodbury and James Down.

Chandra graduated from Southern High School class of 1995.

She started working for United Rentals in August of 1998 and quit in 2014 to help her mother, Rhonda, run Flatt Tire Service and Stronghurst Repair. In 2017 she went back to United Rentals part time while still helping with the family business'.

Chandra loves spending time with her family. Lately, they have spent a lot of time at her brother's, Travis Vancil, pond fishing, swimming and cooking out. She absolutely loves watching her sons play sports, especially basketball. Basketball is her favorite.

Chandra is really praying that this COVID-19 pandemic does not put a halt to her son's sports, but unfortunately she is afraid that it will. Chandra says, "It will literally break my heart to miss out on these times in their life. As for now, we're just trying to get thru it and hope all our loved ones stay healthy."

Chandra and Todd had an unexpected visitor in June, Bruno the bear. Around June 23, Bruno was spotted near their house in rural Stronghurst. At the time, Chandra said, "He seemed very, very exhausted and was laying around eating volunteer corn out in the field."

The Woodbury's called a state police officer they know and he contacted the DNR, but it was dark so they didn't come that evening.

Chandra's husband, Todd, planned to get some plaster and make a mold of Bruno's paw print from their creek.
