The La Harpe Council met on Monday, January 13th and unanimously approved "The Bar" to be open on Super Bowl Sunday, 2-2-2020 and also on 2-16-2020, which is the Sunday the "Daytona 500" is run.

Heather Bundy was at the meeting to represent "The Bar". Heather said she would like to open at noon for the race since it started at noon, and would probably open at 1 p.m. or 2 p.m. on Super Bowl Sunday.

The council approved "The Bar" to be open until midnight on those two dates.

The council also discussed having a city ordinance for the legal sale of cannabis. The council discussed the possibility of someone wanting to open a dispensary. The council decided to do more research on the subject before making any decisions on the ordinance.

The council opened two bids for the cemetery mowing contracts. James Hallowell and Brock Richardson each submitted bids for the same amount of $11,500.

Since the agenda only stated "discuss mowing contract bids", the council could not take action on the bids. It was put on the January 27th agenda to discuss and take actions on mowing contracts.
