Village Of Biggsville

The Village of Biggsville trustees gathered for their Wednesday, February meeting on the 5th. The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Mayor Brian Sterett with the reciting of the Pledge of Allegiance.

All members were present which included: Kathie Curtiss, Dick Goff, Kevin Mortimer, Becky Price, Tammy Slater and Nanci Sterett. Others present were: Mayor Brian Sterett, Treasurer Marilyn Simmons, Clerk Judy Gravgaard, and village employees James Rogers and Mike West.

There was no open forum.

Under Streets/Roads, the village purchased a different truck and it runs very well. James Rogers has used it to remove snow. Mike West reoported that he had flushed the hydrant at Worthy Acres.

Under Zoning it was found that the letter the village lawyer sent concerning structural integrity was returned. He has sent another certified letter to Des Moines County Sheriff's office to be delivered.

Under Old Business it was learned the recycling container signs were to be delivered the week of February 5th.

Under New Business it had been reported there are no fire truck exit signs on the road around the fire station. Mayor Sterett will contact the state and see if the village can get some signs to put up.

It was also learned that the Henderson County Library will be helping anyone who needs help with their 2020 census. They have computers that can be used to register on line.

The minutes, invoices and treasurer's report were approved and the the meeting was adjourned at 8:35 p.m.
