Bev Anderson has decorated the windows of The La Harpe Historical and Genealogical Society on Main Street with a collection of her vintage valentines.
The valentines are quite unique and take you back in memory of times when a lot of effort was put into sending your family or special friends these meaningful items.
And it reminded how disappointed you were if you didn't get one from that "special" person.
Bev purchased the box of relics from the past, at an auction in the 1980s when Steve Lieurance of Dallas City who was running auctions in the Lomax school house.
The date of the cards are assumed to be in the early 1900's but it is unknown, Bev said.
"I brought about 1/3rd of my collections to display at the museum," she said.
Elsie Magin, age 99, was at the museum and said, "They look like some I had as a child."
Drop in and see these beautiful cards and enjoy the many sayings on them.
Museum hours are: Mondays and Saturdays 9-11 and 1 to 4 p.m.
