Mary and her husband Shane Reed, who owns Shane Reed Electric, live in Stronghurst with their five kids. Braeden is a senior at Saint Ambrose University in Davenport, IA. Mady, Stacia, Aydin and Jack attend West Central schools.
Mary has nine sisters and one brother: Reva, Donna, Linda, Paula, Lea Ann, Howard, Rhonda, Anita, Sara, Sandra and Mary, who says that they saved the best for last.
Mary loves the fact that her siblings and their families still celebrate holidays and plan get togethers even tho their parents have passed. Her family had great examples of what family is all about.
Mary graduated from Southern High School in 1991. She then attended Saint Ambrose University and received her Bachelor of Art Degree in 1995.
Currently, Mary is the Executive Head Start Director at West Central Community Services, Inc. The agency sponsors the Head Start and Early Head Start program serving Knox, Warren and Henderson Counties, birth to 5 population, in the center and home based options. Their funded enrollment is 312 students.
Mary has worked for the agency since 1995. She began as the Family Services Manager and held that position for 17 years before transitioning into the Executive Director position in 2013.
Mary loves to read, listen to audio books and watch movies. She enjoys hanging out with family and friends whenever she can.
Mary’s favorite week of the year is the Foresman family reunion at the Henderson County Fairgrounds where they camp and hang out with family they don’t see very often.
Mary’s favorite quote is Luke 6:31, “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.”
In 2021, Mary and her family are excited as the eldest son, Braeden, will be getting married to his high school sweetheart, Maddy Brent.
