Henderson County Sheriff Donald Seitz is announcing the start of his Safety First Campaign.
Sheriff Seitz was contacted by Christy and Dan Potts from The Barn at Fairview Acres of Biggsville, wanting to support local law enforcement by making a contribution to the Sheriff's Office.
With their contribution, Sheriff Seitz was able to start the Safety First Campaign. With the COVID-19 pandemic preventing the use of public or private gyms to exercise, more people have been exercising outdoors by walking, running, and riding bicycles.
Sheriff Seitz will be giving away free reflective high-visibility vests to citizens who request one.
Sheriff Seitz is not only promoting the use of reflective high-visibility vests for exercise, but also for parents who will walk their children to school or stand with their children at school bus stops during the upcoming school year.
Vests can be requested at the Henderson County Sheriff's Office by county residents. Even with the generous donation from Christy and Dan Potts, vests will be on a first come, first served basis.
Sheriff Seitz challenges other area businesses to donate to the Safety First Campaign for the purchase of vests and other upcoming safety materials.
