R&M MARKET & FLORAL has been super busy the past several weeks keeping our local grocery store stocked to meet the needs of the community.
Along with keeping groceries stocked for their customers, the store has coordinated the delivery of grocery "care boxes" delivered to individuals in need.
The La Harpe community helped make this possible with generous grocery and cash donations.
Rebecca Quivey, owner of R&M Market & Floral stated on the store's face book page "The support from our community has been phenomenal and we THANK YOU ALL!!"
Another community project, coordinated by R&M Market & Floral, were Easter floral arrangements delivered to the local nursing home residents and individuals in the community.
La Harpe Police Officer Marlie Burt, Melissa Burt and Dawn Todd assisted with the floral arrangements and Ashley Flynn, Tim and Monalisa Graves assisted with the delivery process.
Rebecca has also been delivering hot meals (at no charge) to residents that she knows are unable to get out during this difficult time.
She also spent extra hours making 83 pies to have available at the store for Easter weekend.
Megan Smith, Rebecca's daughter, states, "People shopping local has helped make all of this possible. Working together as a community makes us all stronger."
DOLLAR GENERAL has been very busy during this challenging time as well with trying to keep the shelves stocked with supplies.
While supplies are limited and not knowing what's coming on the delivery truck, the employees are doing their best to fill their customers' needs.
For additional health precautions, they are reserving the 8:00-9:00 a.m. shopping hour each day for senior citizens.
Local restaurants, RIVALS ON MAIN II in La Harpe and TINK'S CAFE in Blandinsville have been very busy offering curbside and delivery service to their customers.
Rivals on Main II are currently offering pick-up orders at their walk-up window and delivery services within a 2-mile radius.
Through April 30th, their hours are 11:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
Tink's Cafe continues to offer daily specials for curbside pick-up or delivery service to Blandinsville and La Harpe. Delivery service is available every day but Saturday. Please call ahead as hours do vary.
