Take "The Quill" Along

Phyllis Harrell took "The Quill" with her to the 45th anniversary of the first nursing class of the SCC Associate Degree Nursing Program on August 17, 2019.

These students graduated in May of 1974 after the program was started in 1972 and have had 45 years of making a fine contribution to nursing.

This class was a very special class to me as Phyllis had started this program and was most anxious for it to be a success.

These students were all outstanding in the classroom and in caring for patients and they helped this ADN program start off with the success Phyllis hoped it would be.

Students and some faculty attended this very special reunion at the beautiful home of one of the students, Mary Buhmeyer.

On September 28, 2019, Phyllis will attend her alumni banquet from Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing in Moline, and will be celebrating her 65th anniversary of graduating as an RN.
