"A Night at the Movies!"
The 2019 Illini West High School Homecoming festivities will take place the week of September 16-21st.
This year's homecoming theme is "A Night at the Movies."
Grand Marshal is Mrs. Connie Flesner.
Class competitions and dress-up days have been planned for the week.
Monday will start with each student dressing in their class homecoming t-shirts. Students will enjoy an extended lunch with ice cream sundaes.
Tuesday, students will wear Wild, Wild, West garb. We will also have a pep assembly with performances from the band, cheerleaders and dance team. The classes will compete in ultimate frisbee to round out the assembly.
Wednesday students dress in 80s garb. Wednesday evening, at 6:00 p.m., we will watch the girls play powder puff football on Fuzz Berges Field.
Thursday students wear their school colors for school spirit day. Thursday is a half day of attendance, and school will be dismissed at 12:15 p.m.
The Parade, Pep Rally, and Homecoming football game will all take place on Friday September 21st in Carthage, with the parade starting at the Trinity Lutheran Church at 2:00 p.m., parade participants will start lining up at 1:30 p.m., the pep rally will follow on the north courtyard lawn.
The homecoming football game, against the Abingdon-Avon Tornadoes, will take place at Fuzz Berges Field at 7 p.m.
The Illini West Homecoming dance will be held on Saturday, September 21st in the IWHS gym from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Coronation will be held at 9:30 p.m.
