Stronghurst Grain & Merchandise Has Expanded Grain Storage

Stronghurst Grain & Merchandise made ready for harvest with an added 500,000 bu. grain storage bin which was completed in time to receive farmers grain this fall. The above picture was taken after their annual meeting and Appreciation Dinner on September 4th when the assembly and raising of the used bin was in its beginning stages.

"This expansion improves our holding capacity to help us better serve customers' needs," said General Manager Kevin Box.

"We want to avoid putting grain on the ground and renting other storage spaces as we have in the past. It makes us more efficient."

Box said as far as harvest is going, "The wet weather has brought about a slow start but we were having a steadier stream of farmers bringing grain into the facility as the weather improved. Of course the days of rain and snow are making for a long and slower harvest.
