Oquawka Special Meeting Hears Resignation Of Mayor Eldridge

APPROVES AGREEMENT FOR SALE OF FIRE STATION & EQUIPMENT

The Oquawka Village Board held a special meeting on Tuesday, October 8 for the purpose of approving the final draft of the purchase agreement for the sale of the fire station and equipment to the Oquawka Fire Protection District.

Present at the Special meeting were Village President Robert Eldridge, Trustees Nancy Bundy, Shawn Lain, Brian Collier, Scott Ray, Brenda Tee, and Village Attorney Andy Youngquist.

Trustee Tammy Bundy and Village Clerk Jacqui Smith were absent.

Village President Robert Eldridge noted that all board members had been issued a copy of the purchase agreement and asked if there were any final questions before it was voted on. When asked by Lain, Village Attorney Youngquist confirmed that a map showing the placement of the septic system at the fire station was included in the final draft of the purchase agreement.

A motion by Lain to approve the sales contract agreement for the Oquawka fire Protection District was made and seconded by Tee.

In a vote, Bundy, Lain, Collier, Ray, and Tee all affirmed with "Yes" and the motion carried.

Eldridge explained that there needed to be a resolution to authorize the transfer of certain real estate to the Oquawka Fire Protection District.

A Motion (to do so was made) by Lain and seconded by Ray.

Lain, Collier, Ray, Tee, Bundy all voted "Yes" and the motion carried.

At this point, Eldridge asked to go into closed session to discuss village personnel. After the closed session ended and open meeting resumed, Eldridge confirmed that all the board members had been given a copy of his resignation. He then left the table and sat in the audience while Mayor Pro Tem Nancy Bundy sat down in the Village President's chair.

Bundy stated the board needed to make a motion to appoint a new temporary Village President.

Scott Ray made a motion to appoint the temporary Village President as Nancy Bundy which was seconded by Tee. The vote was unanimous with Lain, Collier, Ray and Tee voting "Yes' and the motion carried.

The meeting was adjourned.
