Five Questions were sent out to all five of the Village of Stronghurst Trustees with three of the five returning answers. The three candidates who responded are: Randy Jarvis, Bruce Caldwell (Charles B.), and Michael Swisher. Two who didn't send in their answersf: Amanda Kane and Shane Reed.
1. What prompted you to run for a Village of Stronghurst trustee position?
Randy Jarvis: For the opportunity to serve the citizens of Stronghurst in order to improve the quality of life for all of us.
Michael Swisher: My family and I have resided in Stronghurst most of my life and I would like to be able to contribute to the continued success of Stronghurst.
Bruce Caldwell: I was asked to fill a vacated position and now that I have been on the board, I would like to continue to serve.
2. What do you see as general concerns for the village and how would you address them?
Randy Jarvis: I plan on working with the other board members to be fiscally responsible with the people's tax dollars and to spend them wisely.
Michael Swisher: I'm interested in learning the needs of the village and am looking forward to making sure those needs are met.
Bruce Caldwell: The need to conserve our monetary resources. Replace our street lights with high efficiency LED lights.
3. What are your involvements in community affairs?
Randy Jarvis: I have attended a majority of the Stronghurst Board meetings over the past 4 years. I am a member of the Stronghurst Booster Club assisting the organization at meetings and at various events. I am a lifetime member of the Stronghurst American Legion.
Michael Swisher: In the past, I coached West Central Middle School girls basketball program. I also volunteered as director of the Stronghurst summer ball program. Currently, I volunteer my time helping the Henderson County Fair.
Bruce Caldwell: Working towards a veterans monument and active with the boy scouts.
4. How accessible will you be to the citizens of the village?
Randy Jarvis: I am currently semi-retired and will be fully accessible to listen to people's concerns.
Michael Swisher: I work full time, but my phone is always available to leave a message and I'll return the call at the earliest convenience.
Bruce Caldwell: Readily accessible-just not much of a morning person.

Randy Jarvis: Thank you for the opportunity to answer the questions. I ask my fellow citizens of Stronghurst to please consider voting for me. I promise that I will work hard for your interests to continue to make the Village of Stronghurst a great place to live.

Bruce Caldwell: I want to leave the town in better shape than when I started. There are projects that I want to be involved with to see to fruition.
