Henderson County Republicans enjoyed a full house at St. Patrick's Community Center, Raritan at their Lincoln Day dinner March 4th.

Amanda Van Arsdale, Henderson County Clerk, lead the group in the Pledge of Allegiance and Bill Knupp, Chairman of the Henderson County Central Committee gave the welcome. Jim Bennett, Pastor of the Rozetta Baptist Church gave the invocation and a delicious dinner was served of roasted beef and pork loin, potatoes and gravy, vegetables, salad, rolls and desserts along with tea, lemonade, and coffee.

States Attorney Colby Hathaway, introduced the special guests: Senator Jil Tracy of the 47th District. Then State Representative Randy Frese of the 94th District spoke.

He answered the question of How do these democrat socialists get elected into office in the first place? by saying, "It is hard to run against Santa Claus." when they want to give everything away free.

Rep. Frese has been able to gain needed funds for the building of a new veterans home in Quincy as head of Veterans Affair Committee.

Guest speaker Representative David McSweeney of the 52nd District, spoke on the push for socialism by the democrats. A Republican serving in the Chicago area north of Schumburg, McSweeney fights hard for Republican values, quoting Ronald Reagan at times. He said, the socialist ways of the democrats is to tax, tax, tax led by Michael Madigan, who calls the shots, and the new Governor J.B. Pritzker.
