Part II: The Jones Triplets

KEEPING UP WITH THE JONES'S - Part 2 - Next in line of the Jones kids were triplets, Jack, June, and Joy.

Jack states: "Jack, June, and Joy were born in 1956 at the La Harpe Hospital. The famous and legendary doctor's name was Dr. B.I. Mueller. This might have been Dr. Mueller's first delivery of triplets. The most intriguing thing that most of the Jones kids tell, is that Analu & Frank, (mom and dad) had 6 kids under the age of 5 years old. Pretty amazing!!"

JACK C. JONES

Following graduation from La Harpe High School, Jack received a basketball scholarship from the College of the Ozarks and upon graduation became the Head Basketball coach.

He recruited his brother, Jeff, to attend the University of the Ozarks that year and had the privilege to coach his brother for one year.

Jack continued his education and received master's degrees from Arkansas Tech University.

He wore many hats where he coached Women's Basketball, Men's Basketball, Track, Golf, Tennis, along with being the Athletic Director, Intramural Director, and taught in the Physical Education Department at the University of the Ozarks.

Jack Jones is currently in his 40th year of higher education where he has coached, taught, and administered at the collegiate level since 1979.

He joined Mid America Nazarene University in 2004 teaching in the Health and Exercise Science Department and began coaching, becoming the Head Men's Track Coach and the Assistant Cross-Country Coach for the Pioneers.

In 2006 season, Coach Jones received Coach of the Year for Indoor Track & Field. Jones is currently the Compliance Officer for the Athletic Department and is teaching full time in the Business Administration Department with Sports Management.

He is known for getting involved with the community and University. These are some of the activities/events that Jack has organized: Programs & Activities at MNU - Challenge Day Program for Olathe and Shawnee Mission Schools; Spring into Fitness 5K Run for Local Schools; Play 60, Kansas City Chiefs Training Program; MNU Archery Tournament; Let's Move in Schools Program; Angelman's Walk/Run 5K; Run to the Cross 5K; Chocolate Rush 5K - Half Marathon; Patriots' Run Event (9-11); MAX Program; Homecoming 5K; Jared Coones 5K Fun Run for Cancer; Board Member for the Patriots' Running Club.

Jack is living in Overland Park, KS with his wife Karen.

He met Karen at the University of the Ozarks where she is a Professor of Psychology. Jack and Karen have one child, Jessica, who graduated from Kansas State University and is employed in the field of health information technology.

Jack says, "my favorite hobbies are fishing and hunting, golfing, travel, outdoors, and family.

"My mom and dad have been the most influential people in my life. They kept us grounded, humbled, and focused on the target. Family was their #1 priority and that priority has continued in my life."

"There are many favorite memories to mention. Some that come to mind are: presents under the Christmas tree, line-up on the cement platform, Thanksgiving at the table, farming and chores, sports, and the dreaded trip with the family to the dentist, (Dr. Ostertag)."

JUNE JONES

June graduated from La Harpe High School in 1974. She married Dan Stevenson and they later divorced. She moved to Vero Beach, Florida in 1980. Jan and Joel also relocated to Vero Beach.

June married Ron Perranoski, Los Angeles Dodgers Pitching coach. They won the 1988 World Series, followed by National West Championship, San Francisco Giants. June says "so many special family memories going to games! Was able to travel and see the world."

However, June is now single.

June graduated from nursing school and was self-employed in private care specializing in Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, and Dementia. Her hobbies are painting, calligraphy, flea markets, garage sales, Tai Chi daily (3 times a week at beach) sunrises, sunsets, and rainbows are a plus!"

June says "Favorite childhood memory: Growing up in the Jones family and also a triplet. We had it all! Most of all having love and respect for everyone and everything. Favorite teachers: so many but Hazel Reed wins hands down! Art teachers: Gayle Little and Roland Soule. Most influential people: Jesus Christ, Mom and Dad, family."

JOY POLLOCK

Joy is the youngest of the Jones triplets. She graduated from La Harpe High School in 1974 and graduated from Southeastern Community College's Medical Assistant program in 1975.

Joy says "I first worked for Dr. Hafeez at the LaHarpe Hospital and then worked for Family Practice in Macomb for 21 years. An opportunity arose for a totally different career path and I began working at the Regional Office of Education 26 in Macomb and have been there for 20 years. I am the truancy officer for Hancock and McDonough Counties."

Joy is married to Scott Pollock and will be celebrating their 41st anniversary this year. They live and farm in the Ft. Green area. Scott also works for CG transport out of Houghton, IA.

They are the proud parents of three children, Jared, Erin, and Lindsey Pollock.

Jared is married to Delta George. They have one son, Miles, who will be 4 this spring and are expecting their second child this spring. They live on their cattle ranch near Uniontown, Kansas.

Erin is married to Joshua Haugh and they have one son, Jameson, who will also be 4 this spring. They live in Madison WI. Erin works at Associated Bank as registered sales assistant and Josh is a general manager at Monk's in Verona, WI.

Lindsey lives in Des Moines, IA. and works for John Deere.

Joy says "I enjoy spending time with my family and grandchildren. I also enjoy flower gardening."

"Most influential people in my life are my parents, and my sister, Jan. Jan encouraged me to go into a field that would help people, one that wouldn't feel like a job and would make a difference for others."
