On June 21st, Bill and Lynne Bond of Edinburg, IL (formerly Bill was from Sciota and Southern HS graduate), took "The Quill" along for their daughter Brandy's graduation from the Kern County Regional Training Academy, Bakersfield, California. Brandy was designated as 'class leader' throughout the 6 month law enforcement course and upon completion earned Top Overall Cadet of the academy. Brandy is the first female in the 20 year history of the academy to be presented the award. She will pursue a career with the Bakersfield, California Police Department.
