Meet your neighbor, Ayla Detherage, of La Harpe.
Ayla recently finished her high school studies, a semester early, allowing her to be a December 2018 graduate of Illini West High School.
She plans to further her education next fall at Southeastern Community College in Burlington, Iowa and pursue a career in nursing.
Ayla is a CNA and currently working at Ridgeview Assisted Living in Burlington, Iowa. She will also be taking on a few assignments for the La Harpe Quill Office.
Ayla is the daughter of Dustin and Michelle Detherage of La Harpe. Dustin is retired from the Illinois Department of Corrections where he worked in Galesburg. Michelle is the Manager of the Dollar General store in Roseville.
She is the granddaughter of Larry and Debbie Detherage and her siblings include Hannah, Emily, and Lexi Detherage.
Ayla says she likes to work, but enjoys binge watching movies during her spare time.
A favorite family tradition is a family game they all play at Christmas with everyone going for the smallest present which is usually lottery tickets.
Ayla's favorite saying is "Don't cry because it's over; smile because it happened".
