On Sunday, February 24 from noon to 4 p.m., Oak Wood Estates will hold an open house to tour the newest addition to the facility at 200 S Logan Street in Stronghurst.
Oak Wood Estates is a supportive living facility that opened in 2009.
The addition adds ten new residences, including both singles and doubles and handicap accessible, a beauty shop, a game room with an entrance to the glass enclosed patio and a new central bath.
Each resident's room contains a kitchen area with storage space, a refrigerator and microwave.
The large bathrooms provide a sit down shower and more storage. The bathrooms each have emergency call lights.
Oak Wood offers the following services: Basic cable TV, wireless internet, laundry and housekeeping services, personal services, 3 well-balanced meals provided daily, snacks available anytime, nursing service available 24 hours a day, personal care services as needed, emergency response system in place 24/7, medication set-up and/or reminders, mailboxes, and residents have the freedom to come and go.
Oak Wood allows pets under 25 pounds and currently have a dog, two cats and a bird living with their owners.
