That is what's happening today through the ministry of Pastor Bruce Goettsche of the La Harpe Union Church. A small town Pastor spreading God's word across the state of Illinois, is something the community of La Harpe can certainly be proud of.
Pastor Goettsche has been with the La Harpe Union Church for 37 years, and makes a tremendous impact on his church family and the community. And now, their Sunday messages can be heard across the state of Illinois.
The radio broadcasts are taken from Sunday weekly messages that feature Bruce and his son Rick, who is Associate Minister for Education and Outreach. They join a lineup of National radio ministries.
On February 1, 2019, the Union Church joined the WLUJ (Lifting up Jesus) family of stations. The WLUJ Studio is located in Springfield, Illinois and covers most of central Illinois. It is amazing, as you can see on the pictured map, that God's word coming from La Harpe, can be heard across the large state of Illinois.
While radio broadcast is nothing new with Pastor Goettsche, the joining with WLUJ is a tremendous realization, and Pastor Goettsche says he is so humbled to be a part of this radio ministry.
Pastor Goettsche first entered the radio broadcasting venture back in the fall of 1997. With the encouragement and assistance from friend Lyman Fort, Pastor Goettsche joined KBUR out of Burlington, Iowa with a weekly broadcast spreading God's word.
Later, he also was a part of WCAZ in Carthage and KAYP in Burlington. He was then anchored with Good News Radio out of Carthage and, when the business was recently sold, he was merged with the WLUJ family of stations.
While Pastor Goettsche is humbled to be a part of WLUJ, he is excited to know God's word is able to reach so many. And, even though he may never know who is touched by his message, he is excited to know that the possibility of making an impact on someone's life has increased tremendously. Pastor Goettsche says he is so blessed and gives all the glory to God for this amazing opportunity.
Through WLUJ, Pastor Goettsche's "God's Truth for Daily Living" can be heard on 96.7 FM in Macomb, 89.7 in Springfield, 90.3 in Bloomington, and 93.5 in Jacksonville and Beardstown at 3:30 p.m. on weekdays and 7:00 a.m. on Sunday mornings.
He is also a part of the LIFTFM network that is anchored in Keokuk and broadcasts on 90.9 FM (88.3 Ottumwa and 89.7 Quincy).
God's Truth for Daily Living airs at 6:45 p.m. weekdays and 7:00 a.m. on Sunday mornings.
And, he can still be heard on KBUR (1490 AM and 99.3 FM) at 6:30 a.m. on Sunday mornings.
