At the December 2nd Village of Stronghurst board meeting, the trustees agreed to hold the annual Christmas lighting contest for Stronghurst residents. The prizes will be $100 for first, $50 for second and $25 for third place.

The judging will be held on Monday, December 16th and will be judged by Clerk Hollie Allen's son and Mayor Brendan Schaley's son.

A representative from MTC told the board now that fiber optic lines are laid in Stronghurst they would also like to offer TV service plus their current internet and telephone service. However, in order to do so the board would need to sign a franchise agreement with them.

The village already has a franchise agreement with Mediacom, but the village attorney says they can have an agreement with more than one company.

On a motion by Mike Swisher and seconded by Randy Jarvis the board voted to have a contract with MTC which the attorney will draw up and the board will sign at the next meeting, along with a current one for Mediacom.

The police report for November included: 68.5 hours worked; 363 miles on squad car; 1 traffic stop with 1 verbal warning; 6 service calls; 21 business courtesy checks
