Meet Your Neighbor

By Becky Smith, The Quill

Meet your neighbor, Boni Huston, of La Harpe.

Boni was born and raised in La Harpe the daughter of Rex and Teresa Huston.

Her siblings are Bobi (Grant) James; A. J. (Jamie) Huston; Ty (Rachel) Huston; Clay Huston; Tucker (Shelby) Huston; and Trace Huston.

Her grandparents are Alfred and Gladys Huston and Bill and Bonnie McKeown. Boni also has eleven nieces and nephews.

Boni graduated from Illini West High School in 2014 and has attended various community colleges unsure of what she really wanted to do for a career.

She recently finished an EMT class and passed her NREMT (National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians) in 2019.

Boni is currently working at Palmer's Service in La Harpe and Double Deuce in Carthage. She is also a volunteer for the La Harpe Ambulance Service and recently took on some responsibilities for the Hancock County Quill.

Boni's hobbies include paddle boarding, swimming, hiking, longboarding, Jiu Jitsu. Boni says "I love pretty much anything outside."

She also enjoys writing and plans to write a book someday.

Boni says "Family means everything to me. Any day spent with my parents and my siblings is a good day. We have gone to MANY states to see my older brothers graduate from military training schools. Sunday lunches are a big get together for my family and happen at least once a month."

Boni's future plans are to be a paramedic and to someday be a Flight Medic.
